Knee CPM
Continuous Passive Motion Knee is a mechanical exercise device used for post-operative range of motion following surgery to constantly flex and extend the knee to maintain flexibility, decrease edema and pain. CPM has been shown to reduce pain medication and shorten rehabilitation time. Although it can be used following a variety of knee procedures, it is generally used for total knee replacement surgery and is, in fact, only reimbursed by Medicare for that purpose.
